House of Worship for Jesus Christ Ministries is a project that was begun during the month of April 2010, and it is beginning to grow rapidly. A church planting effort of Tulare Community Church, with additional support by Sunrise Community Church, this new ministry is moving forward to bring about changed lives and families in the community. Stories of healing, of miracles, of restored families and of spiritual growth are emerging in this town. This is all happening through the teaching of God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. 


Currently over 40 people (15 families) are being blessed by the wonderful Word of Jesus Christ. This new congregation has two Bible study groups which meet in homes, a training class each Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the worship center, and a worship service celebrating Jesus Christ every Sunday at 11: 00 am. Our meeting place is at 290 Cooper (on the corner of N Evans) in Tipton, CA.
“Come celebrate Jesus Christ with us” is the slogan of this new and vibrant congregation. We invite you to join us as well!

Baptism is a big deal at our church. Not only are we doing we Jesus commanded us to do, we are celebrating people whose lives have been transformed by the gospel. This is a perfect event to bring someone who is curious about how to know God personally or who has questions about faith in general, or about Jesus. Since this is a celebration, we will all share a meal together. I mentioned last week about this summer being a season of bringing, well this is a perfect event to kick off our summer season together. Whether you are getting baptized or not, become a bringer and bring someone to this event so that it will be a tremendous celebration! God bless you and have a great week!

Oak Hill Rummage Sale – Our family at Oak Hills church is holding a rummage sale to support our ministry at Sequoia. They need help on Friday 5/14 anytime from 8am-5pm to help organize the items for sale or on Saturday 5/15 from 5am-8am for the actual sale. Lonestar Elementary School Carnival – Afternoon @ Lonestar Elementary School (2617 S. Fowler Avenue Fresno, CA 93725). We are helping our friends at Lone Star Elementary School with their school carnival. This is our May outreach and will give us an opportunity to bless the parents and students of this school. There will be all kinds of booths for us to help with. The time slots available are 3:30pm-5:30pm, 5:30pm-7:30pm, and 7:30pm-9:30pm. Lone Star could use the most help from 5:30pm-7:30pm. As summer quickly approaches there are many things to look forward to such as vacations, bbq, and swiming. For us at Sequoia, we look forward to the summer as well with the start of our summer life groups, baptisms, and GUTS. In addition, we want this to be a summer of bringing in our church. What I mean is that we want to encourage everyone in our church to become a bringer in the life of our church. Bring people to everything whether it is our Sunday morning worship service, our monthly outreach, or our life groups. It is my prayer that it simply becomes normal for each of us to bring and welcome people into the life of our church. Jesus likened this to fishing. When he called his first followers, they were fishermen and he told them that from now on, the would be fishers of people. Let us go fishing as we make this a summer of bringing. Message from Pastor Nic…

Last Sunday I spoke about the power of confession to start a movement. In the case of Nehemiah, a whole nation got together to get real with God by confessing how they have fallen short as a nation. That confession started a movement of renewal that transformed the city and the country. For us a Sequoia, we desire the same thing. Our heart is for our entire city to get real with God. We do this by sharing the good news about Jesus, who gives us the freedom to confess to him because of what he has done for us. The bible says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Jesus wants us to get real with him as individuals and as a church. When we as a church embrace the power of confession, we will experience the freedom in forgiveness. Is there an area in your life that you need to confess to someone else? Is there someone that you have hurt? Is there a shortcoming in your life that only you know about? Confess it to Jesus and let him bring healing into your life.

My 4th week as co-instructor of brass music at Pine Ridge School begins today! This may develop into greater presence for next Fall and meeting local families.

We will host the local pastor’s fellowship prayer meeting in June at the school!

The Power of Multiplication

This past week I had the privilege of attending the Exponential Conference in Orlando, Florida. It is the largest gathering of church multipliers in the world. There were many things that I learned at the conference, but nothing impressed me more than the power of multiplication. Multiplication occurs in the church when everyone contributes to see new churches form. A really old math mathematician named Leonardo Fibonacci illustrated the power of multiplication by solving a problem of rabbits. He was challenged to figure out how many rabbits could a single pair in a room by themselves reproduce in a year if a new pair is produced every month who can also reproduce. He formed a pattern called a Fibonacci Sequence (made famous by The Davinci Code) He concluded that after one year there would be 233 pairs of rabbits and after two years there would be 150,000. Multiplication is a powerful force and when we in the church commit to becoming multipliers, God can use us to do great things in his kingdom. God bless all of you and have a great week!
